Unable to access or submit assignment / Canvas

Problem

• Why can't I access an assignment in Canvas?
• Why am I unable to submit an assignment in Canvas?
• Why can't a student submit an assignment in my Canvas course?

Resolution

• Refer to the Canvas Student Guide for instructions on submitting online assignments
• Check for the following issues:
  • Review the assignment's availability dates to ensure the assignment is open for submission
  • Verify there are no module requirements that must be completed before accessing the assignment, the assignment is not in a locked module that will open on a later date, or that the assignment is an unpublished module
  • Clear cookies and cache, close the browser, and reopen it, or open a different browser and attempt to submit the assignment. Refer to the Canvas Student Guide for more information about supported browsers
  • Contact your instructor to request access, resolve publishing issues, or report errors
• If you are submitting a group assignment, only one student needs to submit the assignment on behalf of the group. Check with your group to confirm if another member has already submitted the assignment:
