Instructions 

Create a Stukent course

  • Students will only have access to Stukent courseware after a course has been created and linked to your Canvas course
  1. Visit www.stukent.com and click Login at the top right of your screen
  2. Log in with your Miami email and password
    • If you do not know your login information or you are a new user, email virtualta@stukent.com or call 1-855-788-5368
  3. Once you are logged in, you will be taken to the instructor portal. Click + Add Course button in the bottom left corner of your screen
  4. Enter your course details and click Next Step
  5. Add the Stukent courseware and simulations you desire. Select Save and Continue 
    • Note: Selected products cannot be changed after clicking Save and Continue. If you decide to switch products after saving, you must add a new course and make your new selections in that course
  6. After completing the course creation process, you will be taken to the Products tab, where you can administer your Stukent course

 

Add Stukent in Canvas

Import Stukent Tool from a Previous Course

  1. Open Canvas
  2. Go to the course to which you want to import the Stukent link
  3. Go to Settings
  4. Click on Import Course Content from the right menu
  5. In the Content Type box, use the down arrow to select Copy a Canvas Course
  6. Use the Select a course down-arrow to locate and click on the course that contains Stukent
  7. Under the Content, click the Select specific content option
  8. Click Import button
  9. Click the Select Content button that appears in the Current Jobs section
  10. Check the box the left of External Tools
  11. Click Select Content button in the bottom right corner

 

Add Stukent to a Canvas Course for the First Time

  1. Submit a Canvas Solutions Request for a Canvas Admin to add the Stukent tool to your course(s). Include the term, course name(s), and section(s) where you need the Stukent tool added
  2. Once your request is processed, you will see the Stukent link in your Canvas left-hand course navigation — you may need to refresh your screen

 

Connect the Stukent Course in Canvas

  1. To link Canvas to Stukent course, click the Stukent link in the left-hand course navigation. You should see the Stukent course you created displayed. If you do not see your course, click the Refresh List button
    • Note: Stukent courses that include any enrollments are not eligible for linking and will not be displayed
  2. Once you have located the course you would want to link, click the View Products link to review any products that you would like to generate assignments for during the link process
    • Note: Assignments for course products can only be generated for newly linked courses and cannot be triggered again after the course has been linked
  3. Select the products for which you would like assignments generated. Assignments and Gradebook line items will only be generated for the selected products
  4. Once you have selected all products for assignment generation, click the Link Course button to complete the linking process
  5. Once the course is linked, you will be able to launch Stukent directly from your Canvas course by clicking the Open Stukent button

  • *Stukent is spelled correctly. Refer to www.stukent.com
  • MIami Online can assist with adding the Stukent tool in Canvas, but for help with the Stukent courseware, contact Stukent Instructor Support
     
  • Miami Online offers Canvas training
    • Office hours and support will be offered throughout each term. Look for an announcement in Canvas and an email to all faculty

  • Visit the Canvas Status Dashboard to check performance information for Canvas services
