LISTSERV / Assistance needed to modify configuration to restrict senders
Objective
To provide instruction on modifying your LISTSERV list configuration to restrict senders when:
You want to block messages sent by non-Miami users
You want to limit senders on your list to Miami users only
You want to limit senders on your list to users with a Miami email address (@miamioh.edu or @muohio.edu)
To obtain assistance with modifying your LISTSERV list configuration

The keyword
Filter
can be added to a LISTSERV list header and edited to specify how filtered address patterns should be applied, as follows:
Also
– If you want the addresses or patterns entered to be in addition to the default filters set up for the whole server (recommended)
Only
– If you want to replace the default filters
Safe
– If you want to use the safe filter
Go to Miami's LISTSERV portal
Log in using your email address and Listserv password
Select the list from your Dashboard
Select
List Configuration
Click the
Edit Manually
button
In the list header, look for the following keyword and text:
Filter= Safe
Change the text to
Filter=
Also,*@miamioh.edu,*@muohio.edu
Click
Save
Ignore the English template error — the new configuration setting will still be saved
