Folders in Cascade (cms)

Folder Types

There are two folder types in the cms:

  • File Folders
  • Section Folders

File Folders

File folders are generally used to organize assets. Images and Widgets will need to be organized in sites in order to easily update the asset. Although file folders are generally not used to organize pages, each site has at least one _Archives folder used to hold assets that are no longer needed, including pages.

Creating a File Folder

  1. Navigate to the area where the file folder is to be added.

  2. Select 'Add Content' from the top of the window.

At the top of the CAS Recruitment site, Add Content is highlighted.

  3. Select 'Add File Folder'

The Add Content pane with 'Add a File Folder' highlighted.

  4. Name the folder

  5. Images for this area will be stored here

  2. Select 'Add Content' from the top of the window.

At the top of the CAS Recruitment site, Add Content is highlighted.

  3. Select 'Add Section Folder'

The Add Content pane with 'Add Section Folder' highlighted.

  4. Both the Folder Name and the Display Name fields have default text that both need to be changed.

The name is section-folder, which is the default. The name of the Section Folder is Section Folder, which is the default

  5. The default fields (Folder Name and Display Name) are both updated

Naming of the section folder - global-halth-studies and naming of the section - Global Health Studies. Both are highlighted.

  6. Once the folder is set up, multiple folders and pages can be added.

The Global Health Studies section folder iwth an images file folder, a widgets file folder, an index page, an academic page, and a subheader.

Notes

  • The Section Folder can have multiple pages and folders; however, one of the pages must be named index. The index page can be any page type (content, sublanding, or landing.)
  • The Display Name default must be changed, or 'Section Header' will be what shows in the Navigation.
