I want to remove a profile from my department's Profile Directory page.

This article is a summary of the Archiving a Profile Page in the Canvas Training course.

Why would you archive or move a profile?

  • A staff/faculty member has retired; 
  • A staff/faculty member has left the University; 
  • A staff/faculty member has changed departments.

Note: Do NOT delete the profile page!!

Steps to Archive the Profile Page:

Note that what is provided below is an overview of the steps. More detailed instructions, along with images, can be found in the Canvas Training Course.

Unpublish the Profile Page:

  1. Open the Profile page in Cascade.

  2. Select Edit and then More

  3. From the More dropdown menu, select Unpublish

  4. On the Destinations, check both Live and Test

Remove the Department and Teams:

  1. While on the profile page, select Edit.

  2. In both the Department and Teams fields, delete the entries:

  3. Select Preview Draft and Submit to save the changes.

Archiving the profile page:

If you don't want to do this step, let a UCM Web Team member know.

  1. While still in the profile page, select the More dropdown on the right-hand side of the window:
  2. Select Move:

  3. Select the new location by clicking on New Folder and then selecting the correct area from the right pop-up.

  4. Navigate to an Archive folder. Note that all areas should have one. 

Republishing the Departmental Listing Page:

  1. Navigate to the employee's departmental folder in the treeview:

  2. Publish the Index page.​​​​​​​
