Miami Student Account / February 2025: Unable to log in to Wi-Fi, AppPortal, or lab workstations

Objective

  • To provide resolution to users impacted by new account creation bug that resulted in out-of-sync credentials

Scope

  • Accounts that are able to log into some Miami applications, but unable to connect to Wi-Fi or access other Active Directory authenticated resources

Guide

  1. Log in to MUnet Password Utilities (RI) using your UniqueID and MUnet default password 
    • The default password for your account is your two-digit month of birth, two-digit day of birth, and the last four digits of Social Security number (SSN) (MMDDSSSS)
      • Example: Your birthday is April 1, and your SSN is 555-555-5555, so your default password would be 04015555
    • If you did not provide the University with an SSN, your default password is your two-digit month of birth, two-digit day of birth, and the last four digits of your Banner+ ID number (MMDDBBBB)
  2. Click the Next button
  3. In upper-right corner of the screen, click your profile name and select Change Password from the drop-down 
  4. Enter your current password
  5. Change your MUnet password following Standard: Passwords
    • 16-255 characters
    • Minimum of one uppercase letter
    • Minimum of one lowercase letter
  6. Click the Save button

 

Note 

  • Credentials are synced to systems after being set. Please allow 1-2 minutes for this process to complete before attempting the new credentials
