Environment

Why use standards and best practices?

Using standards and best practices in Workday Reports offers the following benefits:

  • Improves customer service by validating the data added is sufficient for the business need
  • Increases efficiencies by validating the proper security is assigned to the group
  • Enhances the end-user experience with Workday

Guidelines

All report requests should be initiated through the Workday support team (WDS). When a ticket is received and determined it needs to be assigned to the reporting team, the Workday Support team will process the reassignment. Before the work is completed by the reporting team, the following needs to be validated:

  1. Verify security access to the report (and to the data in the report) for the individual/group who requested the new/change report
  2. Verify the changes are as expected

For existing tickets not originating through WDS, it is the expectation that the reporting team is directly collaborating with the customer to ensure data visibility and accuracy of presented data before following the steps to migrate (see below). If security needs to be adjusted, the ticket should include the WDS team for a security change request (while the report is still in the pre-migration stage)

Deployment/Migration

For migration of the completed reports, go to the following service catalog entry: Workday Migration Request.
