The Firefly online application brings digital, text-based content and literacy tools to anyone who requires or desires assistance with literacy skills. It's available anytime and anywhere an Internet connection exists, and from any computer running a Windows or Macintosh operating system.


Instructors can easily post class work files from a central location for students to retrieve, and Upload A File lets any user upload material for their own use, or to share with others.

Firefly supports any Web browser, and reads Kurzweil Educational Systems KES as well as text files.

Here are a number of ways to log in and access your Firefly My Account page:

  • From Kurzweil 3000 for Windows Version 14, choose My Account from the File menu
  • From Kurzweiil 3000 for Macintosh Version 14, choose My Account from the Kurzweil 3000 menu
  • Click the green Firefly Account button.    In a browser, go to
    • After logging in, you are in the Firefly Home page

Changing User Information

On the Profile page, you can view and change user information such as address and occupation, login, school/organization information, and your password:

  • From the Firefly home page, click Profile or Update Profile
  • Make the desired changes, and then click Update Account Information

Forgot Your Password?

If you are unable to log in because you forgot your password, you can have it emailed.

1. From the login page, click Forgot Password?

2. In the Forgot Password? page, enter the email address associated with your account, then click Submit . Your username and the original password will be emailed to you.

3. Use the emailed password to log in

4. Follow the instructions in Changing User Information above to change the password
