Request Access to an Encrypted Computer (BitLocker/FileVault)


IT staff may use this form to obtain a recovery password that can be used to access computers encrypted using BitLocker or FileVault.


Click the green Request Access button on this page. Complete and submit the form. After submitting this form, you will receive a recovery password that can be used to access a computer that has been encrypted by any of the following methods:

  • BitLocker (Windows)
  • FileVault (Mac OS X)

After the password is recovered, you will be called at your preferred contact number.


In order to access a recovery key for FileVault, the Mac you are requesting the recovery key for must have been encrypted using Casper.​ This encryption option is available in the Self Service application on managed OS X clients. If it has not been encrypted using Casper, the Support Desk will not be able to obtain the recovery password.
