Unable to use Google Assistant with my Miami account

Issue/Question

  • I cannot enable the Google Assistant feature using my Miami Google account
  • I received the message that Google Assistant cannot be used with my Miami Account, as this feature must to be enabled by administrators. What?

Environment

  • Google Assistant
  • 11357: G Suite (Google Apps)
  • Tablet or Mobile Device (Android, iOS)

Cause

  • The Google Assistant feature is not supported on the G Suite package (Google Education domain) associated with your Miami account and cannot be used with an .edu email address

Resolution 

  1. Create your personal Google account!
  2. Use your personal Gmail account with the Google Assistant feature

Can the end-user resolve the issue using the instructions given?
Or does the end-user need to request assistance from Miami UIT, a client office, or a vendor?
