Troubleshooting

  • Issue: No power light on microphone
  • Resolution:
    1. Be sure to power-on the unit
    2. If no power light appears, swap the battery on the unit
    3. Retrieve a fresh 9-volt battery from the drawer in the teacher station
      • Call Classroom Services if there are no batteries
    4. To replace the battery in a Lavalier microphone:
      • Telex brand: Open the face of the unit with the opposing buttons on each side
      • Shure brand: Look for the battery hatch at the bottom of the unit
    5. To replace the battery in a hand-held microphone: Screw off the bottom portion of the microphone, snap the new battery into place, and thread the base back onto the unit

  • Issue: No sound from microphone
  • Resolution:
    • If the power light appears after powering on the unit but there is no sound from the microphone, check the touch panel to ensure that the volume control isn't set too low, or muted
    • Another less-frequent issue occurs when the group/channel for the unit isn't synced with the receiver down in the cabinet
      • Locate the phone in the room and dial 9-7900, and then press 9 for assistance from Classroom Services
