User

Environment

Resolution

  1. Determine your primary course
    • For example, if you have a section A and a section B, select one to be the primary course
    • If either course has content created, always select that course to be the primary course, or content will be lost
  2. Open your selected primary course
  3. In the address bar copy the course code by double clicking on the number in the URL at the end https://miamioh.instructure.com/courses/12345
  4. Copy this number
  5. Close the primary course
  6. Open the course you wish to cross-list with your primary course
  7. Select Settings
  8. Click on the Sections tab
  9. Find the hyperlink (underlined course number) and click it
  10. On the right side of the screen, you will see Cross-List this Section
  11. Select this button
  12. Paste the course id into the second text field and press Enter
  13. After the course you are cross-listing appears in the bottom-left corner of the message box, select Cross-List this Section
    • If the course information does not appear, ensure that there are no additional spaces, tabs, or characters before or after the Course ID code
  14. Repeat steps 11 though 15 with all needed sections, using the same Course ID number to cross sections between courses

Note: It may take 24 hours for the course title to reflect the change
