ClassTech / Play DVD or Blu-ray media on a resident PC

Objective

  • To provide instruction on using the resident PC to play DVD or Blu-ray media

Equipment

  • DVD or Blu-ray media
  • Resident PC 

Procedure

  1. With the projection system on, select Computer on the control panel
    Note: If there is no image, move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard to wake the computer

  2. Log in to the computer using your UniqueID and password
    • If you are unaffiliated with the University, enter the username .\muguest (include period and backslash), and the password welcome
  3. Insert your disc into the resident PC

  4. On the resident PC desktop, double-click Cyberlink PowerDVD 15 to start your media

  5. Log Off or Restart when you have finished using the resident PC—do not shut down

Troubleshooting: Black Screen or No Signal

  1. Verify PC is powered on: Inside the left cabinet door, press the top-left power button on the computer
  2. Toggle Picture Mute: Press the PICTURE MUTE button on the control panel
  3. Verify Media: Disc media are encoded for specific geographical regions: USA-enabled media are encoded for Region 1/A; media from other regions will not work

Notes

  • Power-down the projection system when you are finished using the equipment
  • The first time you log in to a computer in this classroom, it will take longer than normal

  • If you need immediate help, locate the phone in the room, dial 9-7900, and then press 9
