Unable to print to a department printer

Issue/Question

  • When I try to print to my departmental printer, nothing happens. It shows a status of "Server is offline"
  • I need to request printer permissions so I can print from my University computer
  • I can connect to my office printer but the printer doesn't print anything I send

Resolution

Remove a printer from Windows

  1. Open Start
  2. Select Devices and Printers
  3. Right-click on the printer
  4. Select Remove Device from the drop-down
  5. Follow these KB instructions to add a network printer in Windows

 

Remove a printer from macOS

  1. Open your Apple menu
  2. Choose System Preferences
  3. Click Printers & Scanners
  4. Select the printer in the list and click Remove
  5. Follow these KB instructions to add a network printer in macOS
