How do I waitlist for regional courses?

Issue/Question

  • I want to waitlist for a course, how can I?

Environment

  • BannerWeb

Cause

  • Once a course has reached the cap listed, students attempting to register will see an option to waitlist for the course

Resolution

  1. Follow this link to open Bannerweb
  2. Select Student Services and Financial Aid
  3. Select Registration
  4. Select Registration/Change of Schedule
  5. Select the term for registration
  6. Search for your desired course
  7. If a course is full and a waitlist is available, you should see the status message: Closed - <number> Waitlisted
  8. Select Waitlisted from the Action box
  9. Select Submit Changes
    • You should now see that you are waitlisted for the course.
    • If you leave the Action box as None, you will not be added to the waitlist
  10. When a seat becomes available, you will receive a notification in your Miami email account from classwaitlist@miamioh.edu
    • The subject line will read Waitlist Notification for <your course>.and the email will contain instructions on how to register for the course

Note:

  • You cannot waitlist for more than one section of the same course (ex., STA 261 HA & STA 261 HB)
  • You can waitlist for multiple courses (ex., STA 261 HA & ENG 111 HA)
  • If you are on the waitlist for a course, check your Miami email for notifications every day
  • If you are notified of an opening in a course, you must register for the course by the deadline given in your email
  • If you fail to register for the course by the deadline given in your email, you will be removed from the waitlist. You must then re-register for the waitlist, and you will be added to the end of the list
