Statement of Best Practice
The purpose of Project Portfolio Management (Value Engineering) is to oversight of the Project Portfolio and participate in the selection of project work taken on by IT Services for the benefit of the University; and to provide leadership reporting of activity and status of projects in the portfolio.
- Provide defined repeatable, auditable, scalable processes in how projects requests are evaluated
- Follow standards to manage the project requests, track and report progress, and determine dispositions
- Provide transparency to clients through visibility into requests statuses, risk, and issues
- Effective communication with stakeholders through partnerships and collaboration
- Set and manage expectations of all participants to ensure that the process results in successful outcomes
- Make informed decision by utilizing appropriate resources (team, requester, Client Engagement leads, subject-matter experts) to make decisions about the technology request
