Introduction

TINA Design Suite is a powerful yet affordable circuit simulator and PCB design software package for analyzing, designing, and real time testing of analog, digital, HDL, MCU, and mixed electronic circuits and their PCB layouts. TINA is an acronym of "Toolkit for Interactive Network Analysis".

Capabilities, Benefits, and Key Features

TINA Design Suite can analyze SMPS, RF, communication, and optoelectronic circuits; generate and debug MCU code using the integrated flowchart tool; and test microcontroller applications in a mixed circuit environment. A unique feature of TINA is that you can bring your circuit to life with the optional USB controlled LabXplorer and TINALab II hardware, which turns your computer into a powerful, multifunction T&M instrument. Electrical engineers will find TINA an easy to use, high performance tool, while educators will welcome its unique features for the training environment. It includes most features of the Industrial version plus extra educational features and utilities such as training and examination mode, classroom supervisor and an authoring tool for creating problems.

Limitations / Technology Requirements

TINA Design Suite can be installed and used only on Microsoft Windows.

What can I expect?

  • Support Tier: Tier 2 - Sponsor Support: If students were to contact IT Help, they refer the user to an individual sponsor, typically an instructor of a given course. The sponsor would work directly with the vendor on any unresolved issues.

  • Acquisition Model: Direct Download: Software is downloaded to a local computer and installed to run from that specific device.

  • Licensing Model: Site license: Miami has negotiated terms that allow for all current students and instructors to use the application.

  • Authentication ModelIndependent Registration: The user is required to create an account individually with the application vendor.

ENT192 students who may use this software dedicated to a lab on the Middletown Campus (Thesken Hall 102).
