Introduction
Azure Dev Tools for Teaching was designed for STEM-focused instruction. Any course curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is eligible to use Azure Dev Tools for Teaching to help professors teach and students learn more effectively.
Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching subscription provides you with access to certain software developer tools. These tools are available to download for free. If you're a faculty member is enrolled in an approved course, you're eligible to install Azure Dev Tools for Teaching software onto your personal computer for non-commercial use.
Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is available in the more than 140 countries/regions where Azure is commercially available. The Education Hub Store is available in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching subscription provides access to certain software developer tools that are available to download for free onto personal computer for non-commercial use.
As an administrator of the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching subscription, you'll be able to:
- Manage and access software through a centralized online location that eliminates the need to maintain a WebStore or an internal site.
- Give academic users access to software, free training/learning materials, and the Azure cloud platform through the same online portal.

Students need to have their access granted by faculties.
What can I expect?

Support Tier: Tier 3 - Divisional/Departmental Support: Miami IT resources exist to support the faculty within their respective academic divisions. In most cases, individual users who contact IT Help receive best effort support. If unsuccessful, they would refer the use to contact the instructor of their course. Instructors seeking support for unresolved issues would be escalated to their divisional IT team.

Acquisition Model: Registration: Online user account is used to login to the application each time of use, frequently using Miami's Identity and Access single-sign on capability with your Miami UniqueID and password.

Licensing Model: Site license: User license server: Miami or the Vendor hosts a license server that the application uses to checkin and validate that you still have permission to use the application. The license server typically has one or more administrators that review and ensure the licenses have been deployed according the terms and conditions of use.

Authentication Model: GSuite or Azure: Application allows for users to login using a federated login to Google or MS Azure. If using your Miami account, @miamioh.edu, on these services, the login is subject to the same requirements as though you logged into those services directly. In many cases, it is possible to use a personal Google or Microsoft account that is unrelated to your Miami account.

How do I get started?
There are two ways to access your subscription so that you can deploy software to your students and outfit your labs:
- By downloading software and keys from the Visual Studio Subscription Portal.
- Granting access for students to the Education Hub Store.
