Unity Educational License

Unity Education licenses can be used for learning, teaching, training, and research and development activities that are part of the instructional functions performed by the institution and include publishing restrictions.

Capabilities, Benefits, and Key Features

Unity Education licenses are specifically designed to make it easy to deploy and manage licenses in a multi-seat, classroom environment. Command line management reduces the system and IT support needed to deploy Unity at your school.

  • Access free resources for teaching Unity technology in your classrooms, programs, and courses.
  • Find complementary materials for educators and learners – lesson plans, standards alignment, projects, assessments, organizers, and more!
  • Access hundreds of tutorials, projects and courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced learners.

These resources are designed for the independent learner and can be used to supplement instructor-led learning.

Limitations / Technology Requirements

If your students are distance learning, the computers they use must be powerful enough to run Unity. If their computers are not Unity compatible, they can virtually connect to a school computer that can run Unity. Learn how to set up Unity via virtual computer access using AWS services.

What can I expect?

  • Support Tier: Tier 1 - Sponsor Support: If students were to contact IT Help, they refer the user to an individual sponsor, typically an instructor of a given course. The sponsor would work directly with the vendor on any unresolved issues.

  • Acquisition ModelDirect Download: Software is downloaded to a local computer and installed to run from that specific device.

Licensing Model: User license server: Miami or the Vendor hosts a license server that the application uses to check-in and validate that you still have permission to use the application. The license server typically has one or more administrators that review and ensure the licenses have been deployed according to the terms and conditions of use.

  • Authentication Model: Independent Registration: The user is required to create an account individually with the application vendor.
