Introduction
Pear Deck is a Google Slides add-on that adds more interactivity to presentations. The software allows both students and instructors to create more in-depth slide decks that can reach a wider audience.

Drop-in formative assessments can be assigned during a presentation to help gauge student understanding

Limitations / Technology Requirements
Instructors and students will need an up-to-date web browser and an Internet connection.
What can I expect?

Authentication Model: GSuite or Azure: Application allows for users to login using a federated login to Google or MS Azure. If using your Miami account, @miamioh.edu, on these services, the login is subject to the same requirements as though you logged into those services directly. In many cases, it is possible to use a personal Google or Microsoft account that is unrelated to your Miami account.
Who may use it?
All Miami students and instructors have access to the free version of Pear Deck.
How do I get started?
Instructors and students can create a Pear Deck account or join a session at https://www.peardeck.com/googleslides. The add-on can be accessed by registering your Google Drive account with Pear Deck.
Is there a charge to me or my department?
There is no charge for the free version of Pear Deck.
