Campus Clear


CampusClear is a voluntary COVID-19 self-assessment app for your mobile device that can assist staff, faculty, and students to determine if it's appropriate to access campus.  It can also be used via the web.  Miami University is encouraging all staff, faculty, and students to download and use the app if they are planning to physically attend one of Miami's campuses.  The app is not designed to provide medical advice nor replace a trained medical professional.

If you anticipate or experience a disability related barrier to using the CampusClear application report an accessibility barrier. A mobile and web version of the app is available for all users.

Capabilities, Benefits, and Key Features

Once installed and configured, the application allows users to select from a set of current symptoms and will provide advice on whether it would be appropriate for them to be on campus based on those symptoms.  The advice is presented in a green (okay to be on campus), yellow (conditional access to campus), and red (do not go to campus) format.  The application will also send a daily notification to remind the user daily to reassess their symptoms.

Who may use it?

The CampusClear app is available to all Miami University faculty, staff, and students.  It's use by Miami faculty, staff, and students is voluntary.

Is there a charge to me or my department?

There are no charges required to use the CampusClear app or CampusClear web application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Am I required to use this application if I will be on campus.
Answer: A daily symptom assessment is required.  The CampusClear app is the preferred method at the University to perform that symptom assessment.

Question: Does the application and the University collect the information entered?
Answer: Miami does not currently plan to utilize the data entered through the app.
