Procedure: CIT Server / Remote access on macOS

Objective

• To provide instruction on accessing the CIT server on macOS

User

• Computer and Information Technology (CIT) Faculty, Staff, and Student

Environment

• 312306: Duo two-factor authentication
• Personally Owned Computer 
  • macOS
• CIT Server
  • appportal.miamioh.edu

Procedure

1. Open your preferred browser of choice
2. Navigate to AppPortal.MiamiOH.edu
3. When asked to log in, log in with your Miami ID and Miami password
4. Once in, navigate to regional-CIT
5. A dialog box will appear, asking for permission to access your clipboard, printer, microphone, and file transfer. Select these if they are not already and click Allow
6. You will begin connecting to the machine, and after some loading, it will send a Duo verification  
7. Accept the Duo verification on your preferred device, then you should have access to the server 
   • Note: You will get a Duo prompt; the default is a Push notification
