• To provide information on using the Miami Wi-Fi network to provide cell phone calling 
• To address cell phone coverage problems in Miami University facilities

Scope 

• Miami's high-speed wireless network can be used for certain cell phone services when you are on Miami campuses and inside Miami University facilities

Guidelines

• Wi-Fi calling over the Miami wireless network gives you the ability to make and receive calls or text messages in locations that have limited or no mobile network coverage
• Wi-Fi calling is a service for most current Android and iOS smartphones:
  • Android phones: Go to Settings and check for the Wi-Fi Calling option 
  • iOS phones: Available on iPhone 5c and newer
• Wi-Fi calling mode supports SMS text messaging services on Android and iOS smartphones
