Hide or restrict access to unavailable files / Canvas

Problem

• Why can my students see Canvas course files I haven't shared?
• How can I restrict students' access to course files?

Resolution

• If the Files link is enabled for students in the Canvas course navigation, students can access all published course files. Miami Online recommends disabling the Files link in your courses and using course links to add necessary files to course announcements pages, assignments, and discussions:
