Received a phishing message through Canvas / Security

Problem

• I have received a suspicious message that appears to have been sent through Canvas

Cause

• It is possible for a phishing message sent to your email to appear similar to a Canvas message notification

Resolution

1. Do not click/follow any links in the suspicious email message
2. Forward the suspicious email to our IT Services Security team at InfoSec@MiamiOH.edu
   • Our IT Services Security Topics page will tell you more about phishing
3. Open Miami's Canvas
4. Select Inbox
   • You can read all messages legitimately sent through Canvas here
