Microsoft OneNote / Access via personal account

Objective

• To provide instruction on accessing your personal Microsoft account when:
  • You are unable to create a new file in Microsoft OneNote through your Miami Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) account 
• To provide a link to the Microsoft OneNote Help Center

Environment

• Software for Personally-owned Computers
• 10314: Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Office
  • OneNote
  • OneDrive

Cause

• OneNote will not work with your Miami Microsoft 365 account
  • OneNote requires OneDrive storage (OneDrive is not provisioned by Miami University)

Resolution

• Log in to OneNote through your personal (not Miami) Microsoft account credentials
  • If you don't have a personal Microsoft account, you can sign up for one and receive OneDrive Basic 5GB for free

• OneDrive is not provisioned by Miami University
