Allow students to view correct answers after a quiz / Canvas

Problem

• How do I allow students to see the correct answers after taking a Canvas quiz?
• Can I schedule when students can see Canvas quiz answers?

Resolution

• There are currently two quiz engines available in Canvas: Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes. Accessing and adjusting quiz settings differs slightly based on the quiz version you're using:

Classic Quiz

• Refer to the Canvas Guides for instructions on viewing responses and revealing correct answers. Note that you have the option to show answers based on a set date and/or attempts in the quiz details:
  • What options can I set in a quiz?
  • Once I publish a quiz, how do I make additional changes?

New Quizzes

• Similar to a Classic Quiz, you can control if and when responses and answers are revealed in New Quizzes. Check out the Canvas Guides for more information on managing quiz settings on the Settings tab from the Build page:

Notes

• While there is currently no global retirement date for Classic Quizzes, Miami Online recommends you begin using New Quizzes. You can request a Canvas project site (sandbox) to begin creating, migrating to, and experimenting with New Quizzes at your own pace
