Miami Email / Assistance needed to receive bulk email permission

Objective

• To provide instruction on securing permission to send bulk email through the Miami email system

Environment

• 12631: Bulk Email
• 10262: Gmail (email e-mail)
• Miami University Email Policy

User

• University Communications & Marketing (UCM)

Cause

• To help prevent spam and keep accounts safe, Gmail limits the number of emails you can send or receive per day, and the number of people you can add as recipients
• Miami also imposes limits on the number of emails that can be sent

Resolution

• If you're sending email to a large number of recipients or to large groups, contact the Office of University Communications and Marketing by phone at 513-529-7596 or by email at UCM@MiamiOH.edu to request permission to use Miami bulk email
