Rationale
- Courtesy accounts rely on default password to allow a user to gain access to their account at creation. Because of this, we do not receive information about the account that can be used for self-service password recovery. Courtesy account users may need their account password set to default, when they have forgotten their password. This will allow the user to set a new password
Resolution
- Navigate to https://accounts.miamioh.edu
- Enter your username/uniqueID and select Next
- Enter your password and select Next
- Navigate to the People module
- On the left side of the screen, select the Courtesy Account Management delegated view
- In the search box, enter the username or email address for the courtesy account that you would like to manage
- Select the 3 dot icon to the left of the returned results and select Edit Profile
- Select the check box to the left of Reset Password to Default
- Select Save
- The courtesy account holder can now complete a password recovery to set a new password using the default password value
Notes
- The user will be prompted to add a personal email address to the system after setting a password. Please encourage users to set a recovery option to allow self-service password recovery
