Canvas Catalog / Training records to Workday Learning transcripts

Objective

• To provide information about adding completion records to Workday Learning transcripts for faculty and staff training available in Canvas Catalog

Instructions 

1. Contact Miami Online via MiamiOnline@MiamiOH.edu if interested in migrating content from Canvas to Canvas Catalog — direct assistance from Miami Online is required
2. Navigate to the Canvas Catalog course to be added to the Workday Learning transcript
3. Navigate to People, select the + People button
   • Note: If the + People button is grayed out, you must extend the Course End Date and Section dates to reopen the course
4. Add via email at WorkdayIntegration@MiamiOH.edu in the Teacher role
   • Note: If you do not contact Miami Online to receive assistance, WorkdayIntegration@MiamiOH.edu will not accept your course invitation, and the connection will fail
5. In your course, navigate to Quizzes and select + Quiz
6. Create the quiz per the following parameters:
   1. Quiz Type: Ungraded Survey
   2. Title: EndQuiz  (no spaces, E and Q capitalized)
   3. Question: Any
   4. This quiz and a completed quiz attempt are required to record course completion
7. Once a Canvas Catalog course is connected to Workday via this integration:
   1. The course and all registered students will appear in the MU General Learning Record Information report
      • This report is accessible via direct search for all Learning Admins and Learning Partner roles in Workday
   2. All registered students will have their personal Workday Learning transcript updated and viewable to their supervisor
      1. To view in Workday, select Menu > Learning > My Learning > View Your Learning History (Learning Transcript)
      2. Supervisors can view the completion through their employee’s Workday Profile

Notes 

• Only Canvas Catalog courses can be connected to Workday Learning transcripts
  • Canvas Catalog is a separate instance of Canvas for Professional Education
  • Contact Miami Online via MiamiOnline@MiamiOH.edu, if interested in migrating content from Canvas to Canvas Catalog
• If there is an issue with the integration, submit a Standard Incident IT Ticket and provide details about the catalog course, names of the users experiencing the issue, and details of the error or issue
