• To provide an introduction to the PREP document remediation tool at Miami

Scope

• PREP (PDF REmediation Platform) is a web-based PDF remediation tool offered by Continual Engine, an artificial intelligence (AI) technology company
• Key features include:
  • AI-powered auto-tag detection
  • Remediation of complex tables, nested lists, forms, math images
  • Built-in accessibility checker

User

• Current or active students, faculty, or staff members (10 concurrent licenses)

Environment

• 1795915: PREP

PREP Workflow 

1. Log in to PREP with your Miami credentials
2. Upload a PDF
   • If the PDF has been tagged previously, select the Load Tagged PDF checkbox
3. Open the PDF
   • AI automatically adds tags and assigns reading order on all pages
4. Touch up the tags, reading order, alt text, lists, tables, links, etc.
5. Run the accessibility checker until all pages pass
6. Export the PDF
