Objective
- To provide instruction on setting up BitWarden, on either desktop or mobile devices
User
Environment
- (no asset record): BitWarden
Procedure
Create an account
- Go to BitWarden's website
- Click on Get Started
- Fill out the registration form
Download BitWarden on your desktop, browser, and mobile phone
- Go to the BitWarden's website
- Click on Download
- After that, you may select your device to install the desktop application, or select your browser to download the browser extension
- For mobile phones:
- IOS devices
- Go to the App Store and download the BitWarden app
- Android Devices
- Go to the Google Play Store and download the BitWarden app
Save passwords on BitWarden
- Log in to your BitWarden account
- Click on Add Item
- There are four types of credentials that you can save
- Login
- Here you can save usernames and passwords
- Card
- Here you can save bank card information
- Identity
- Here you can save personal information
- Secure notes
- Here you can save any notes that you want to keep secure
Transfer Chrome browser saved usernames and passwords to BitWarden
- In the Chrome browser, go to Chrome Settings
- Go to Autofill and then to Passwords
- To avoid redundancy:
- Turn off offer to save passwords
- Turn off Auto sign-in
- Click on the three vertical dots by Saved Passwords and select Export
- A .csv file will be downloaded
- Go to your BitWarden account
- Go to Tools and select import Data
- Select Chrome (CSV) from the drop-down menu
- Select Choose File and select the CSV file downloaded earlier

Enable BitWarden to AutoFill on IOS devices
- Go to your iPhone settings
- Go to Passwords, or search for it with the search bar
- Go to AutoFill Passwords
- Enable BitWarden to be used as an autofill option
- Turn off iCloud keychain, if you don't want to use it going forward
- Currently, Apple does not provide an official way to export data from iCloud, Mac Keychain, or Safari. So you can't import credentials from iCloud/Mac Keychain; you have to add them manually

Enable BitWarden to Auto-fill on Android devices
- From the app, go to Settings, then Auto-fill Services, and enable any of the needed services
