Wireless Network / Connect a Chromebook device to MU-Wireless

Objective

  • To provide instruction on configuring a Chromebook device for secure access to MU-Wireless

Environment

  • 10139: Wi-Fi Network
    • MU-Wireless
  • Chromebook

Resolution

  1. Select the Status Area where your account picture appears 
  2. Select the arrow to the right of the  Wi-Fi icon
  3. Select MU-WIRELESS
  4. Enter the following information:
    • Set EAP method to PEAP
    • Set Phase 2 authentication (if applicable) to MSCHAPv2
    • Set Server CA certificate to Do not check
    • Enter your Miami UniqueID for Identity
    • If your device has an Anonymous identity field, leave this blank
    • Enter your MUnet password for Password
  5. Select Connect to save your configuration settings and connect to the network 

 

Notes

  • Re-enter your credentials when you change your MUnet password
  • If you can see the wireless networks, but are still unable to connect to the Miami network, contact IT Help by phone at 513-529-7900 or by live chat at MiamiOH.edu/ITChat. Provide the following information: 
    • Location
    • Media Access Control address (MAC) for your device(s)
    • Contact information
