Resolution
Ensure you are connected to MUVPN if trying to access Remote Lab from off-campus
To reserve a remote lab machine, navigate to
Miami's Remote Lab portal
Sign in with your UniqueID and password — do
not
use IT\ in front of your login
Once logged in, you will be shown computer pools to which you have access and the number of available machines
If you have access to multiple computer pools, select the appropriate pool in which you wish to reserve a computer
Select
Make My Reservation
and a computer will be reserved for you
Select
Connect to Remote Lab
and an RDP connection file will be downloaded
In most cases, you will have 30 minutes to connect to your reserved computer before the reservation is lost
Double-click on the downloaded RDP file
You may see a security warning: Select
Connect
or
Continue
Enter your MUnet password and select
OK
or
Continue
When you have finished your work, log off the machine and it will return to the pool and be available for other users
There may also be limitations on a session time to ensure machines remain available
Notes
Pools are assigned by instructors or departmental IT support for access to Remote Lab
Pools are assigned by MU Libraries IT support for access to Remote Lab
