NuPark: Staff, Faculty, or Student

User: Miami University Staff, Faculty, or Student
  • Current Miami University staff or faculty member uses this app to purchase an annual parking permit
  • Current Miami University student uses this app to purchase a parking permit for the school year
  • Current University permit holder uses this app to:
    • Check account balance
    • Manage account information, view and manage registered vehicles, and view permit details
    • Sign up for parking text alerts        
    • Search and pay for citations (parking tickets), appeal a citation, and view citation history

Permissions All current University users are granted normal user permissions 
Instructions: Miami University Staff, Faculty, or Student
Current Staff or Faculty

Staff or faculty member purchases an annual parking permit

  1. Log in to the NuPark portal using your UniqueID and MUnet password
  2. Review your list of registered vehicles
  3. Add, edit, or remove a vehicle entry by selecting the appropriate option
    • To update a license plate for a registered vehicle:
      1. Click the Remove button to remove the vehicle
      2. Click the Add New Vehicle button to re-register the vehicle and update the license plate
  4. Click the Buy Permit button
  5. Choose the appropriate Annual option and click the Next button
  6. Select your preferred parking permit option and click the Next/Save button
    • Typically, a staff or faculty member selects the Employee surface lots (RED) option
      • If you want garage access, you must first complete the purchase of your surface lot permit
    • If you have an ADA/Handicap placard, check the box for Do you have a state-issued disability placard? and upload a copy of the registration for your state-issued disability placard
  7. Under Step 4, highlight the vehicles you want to include on your permit:
    • On a PC, press and hold the Ctrl key as you select all vehicles you will drive to campus
    • On a Mac, press and hold the Shift key as you select all vehicles you will drive to campus
    • Note: Only the vehicles highlighted in red below will be included on your permit to park on campus
  8. Click the Next/Save button
  9. Optional: Sign up for free parking alerts from Miami University Parking and Transportation Services
  10. Choose your payment option
  11. Check the box to accept the terms and conditions as given in the Miami University Motor Vehicle Regulations
  12. Click the Next/Save button
  13. Review the information you have given before submitting your permit order
  14. Click the Submit button
  15. If you opted to pay by credit card, complete and submit your Payment Information form
  16. Print a receipt!
  • Optional: To add garage access to the purchase of your surface lot permitgo into your account and complete the process again; select the North Garage or the Campus Avenue Garage option 

 

Notes      

  • Your annual or semester permission to park on campus is stored electronically under your license plate number and does not need to be displayed on the vehicle — there is no hang tag or sticker
  • You are responsible for knowing when it expires (above)

Current Student

Student purchases a parking permit for the school year

  1. Log in to the NuPark portal using your UniqueID and MUnet password
  2. Review your list of registered vehicles
  3. Add, edit, or remove a vehicle entry by selecting the appropriate option
    • To update a license plate for a registered vehicle:
      1. Click the Remove button to remove the vehicle
      2. Click the Add New Vehicle button to re-register the vehicle and update the license plate
  4. Click the Buy Permit button
  5. Choose the appropriate School Year/Semester option and click the Next button
  6. Select your preferred parking permit option
    • If you have an ADA/Handicap placard, check the box for Do you have a state-issued disability placard? and upload a copy of the registration for your state-issued disability placard
  7. Scroll down and verify that the vehicle you want to include on your permit is highlighted in red
  8. Click the Next/Save button
  9. Optional: Sign up for free parking alerts from Miami University Parking and Transportation Services
  10. Check the box to accept the terms and conditions as given in the Miami University Motor Vehicle Regulations
    • The fee for a permit purchased online will automatically be applied to your bursar account
  11. Click the Next/Save button to complete your permit application
  12. Print a receipt!

 

Notes      

  • Your semester permission to park on campus is stored electronically under your license plate number and does not need to be displayed on the vehicle — there is no hang tag or sticker
  • You are responsible for knowing when it expires

Known Errors: User-level
  • Unable to open NuPark in Chrome browser
    • Cause: NuPark uses the SilverLight player, which is not supported by Chrome
    • Applied Resolution: Open NuPark in a Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer browser window

  • Incoming student only sees a visitor option to get a parking permit
  • Newly enrolled student receives a login failure when attempting to apply for a parking permit
    • Cause: If you have not enrolled in classes yet, you will be recognized as a visitor in the Parking Services system
    • Applied Resolution:
      • Try again after you have completed enrollment
      • Contact the Parking and Transportation Services office
