Error Message Web updatable e-mail type required for update or insert
Affected User / Action Former Miami University student who receives error while attempting to remove email addresses in BannerWeb
Cause These addresses are added by the Advancement department and must be removed by Advancement
Resolution Contact Advancement Services at 513-529-5957 or alumrecords@miamioh.edu to request that the desired addresses be removed from your account

 

Error Message An administrator is reviewing your record 
Affected User / Action Miami University student who receives error while trying to add or drop classes in BannerWeb
Cause You are registered for a course without the required pre-requisites appearing on your record
Resolution Contact the One Stop Office at 513-529-0001 to discuss your account with the Registrar's Office

 

Error Link to textbooks does not appear in BannerWeb
Affected User / Action Miami University staff, faculty, or student who is unable to locate a textbook link in BannerWeb
Cause A bug prevented the order link from appearing in all browsers
Resolution
  1. Follow these KB instructions on clearing your browser cache
  2. Open BannerWeb in a new browser window
    • Do not use Internet Explorer

 

Error 400 Error
Affected User / Action Miami University student who is unable to view grades in BannerWeb
Cause This error occurred because grades are unavailable during the grade submission period
Resolution Wait until grades are posted by the Registrar. Contact the One Stop office at 513-529-0001 for information on when midterm grades will be available for students to view

 

Error Message Error message received when signing up for a class in BannerWeb
Affected User / Action Miami University student who is unable to sign up for a class in BannerWeb
Cause You selected the incorrect term
Resolution Make sure to select the correct term. For example, if your term starts in August, select the Fall term

 

Error Message Hold message received when signing up for classes in BannerWeb
Affected User / Action Miami University student who is unable to sign up for a class in BannerWeb
Cause You have a hold on your account and cannot sign up for classes
Resolution Contact the One Stop office at 513-529-0001 to address what is causing the hold and to resolve the hold

 

Error Message Your session has timed out
Affected User / Action Miami University staff, faculty, or student who is unable to access BannerWeb through a myMiami QuickLink
Cause Your browser cache contains an old web session that is preventing you from logging in to BannerWeb
Resolution

 

Error Message Conflicting CRN 
Affected User / Action Miami University faculty or staff who is unable to change the credit status of a class in BannerWeb
Cause Error occurs when changing credit status in BannerWeb
Resolution Contact the Office of the University Registrar by phone at 513-529-8703 for assistance

 

Error Message Unknown Street
Affected User / Action Miami University staff, faculty, or student who is unable to change address in BannerWeb
Cause BannerWeb does not recognize the address, because the US Postal address database is updated every couple of months and new developments and homes are not included until the US Postal system adds them to the database
Resolution Contact the One Stop office by phone at 513-529-0001 and request a manual override of the address

 

Error Message The final grade worksheet is unavailable
Affected User / Action Miami University faculty or staff who is unable to enter grades in BannerWeb
Cause The Registrar disables the ability to submit grades outside the posted grade submission window
Resolution Contact the Office of the University Registrar by phone at 513-529-8703 for assistance with grade submission

 

Error Message You are not authorized to view this student's transcript or schedule
Affected User / Action Miami University faculty or staff who is unable to access student schedules or transcripts via BannerWeb (Faculty and Advisor Self Service)
Cause A problem has occurred with your authorization to access Banner (BannerWeb Faculty and Advisor Self Service)
Resolution Ask your supervisor to request access to Banner using the Banner Access Request procedure 

 

Error Messages
  • An unexpected error occurred: error missing permissions for requested configuration config
  • Token creation missing password for (username)
Affected User / Action Miami University faculty or staff who is unable to submit midterm or final grades to Banner using the Send Grades link in Canvas
Cause
  • Resolved 10/20/2017: A change in background systems caused authentication problems that prevented users from submitting grades
  • This issue has been resolved but might produce a token error window
Resolution
  1. Select Log out on the error screen
  2. Send your grades again
