Error + Resolution

Error Message
  Cannot create a new record. This would cause the Current ID being updated to be identical to an existing alternate ID record for this person/non-person
Affected User / Action Miami University staff, faculty, or student who is unable to change a name in Banner Human Resources
Cause You are unable to change a name in Banner because an identical First, Middle and Last Name information and Change Type already existing as an Alternate Identification for either the name you are trying to enter OR the name that is listed in the Current Value
Resolution
  1. In PPAIDEN, remove the record under Alternate Identification
  2. Click Save
  3. Return to Current Identification and update the name
   

 

Error Message
   ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: charact
Affected User / Action Miami University staff, faculty, or student who has elected to appear / not appear in the Miami Directory is unable / able to locate name and contact information
Cause Banner form PPACMNT uses the code Y or N to show the hidden status of entries and has been incorrectly entered
Resolution To resolve a data error in a Miami Directory entry, contact Human Resources or the Academic Personnel Office during business hours and request that an administrator update the form to the correct values
