25 Live / Create or cancel an event

Objective

  • To provide instruction on creating or cancelling an event in Miami's 25Live scheduling application when:

Scope

  • All faculty, staff, and students can create events on the 25Live calendar

Environment

  • 10352: Series25 (25Live)

Resolution

Create an event

  1. For the best experience, use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to access the 25Live system
  2. Log in to Miami's 25Live portal
    • Click the Sign In tab at the lower-left of the screen
  3. On the dashboard page, click the Create Event button
    • If you want a specific venue, use Find Available Locations in the upper-center of the page to search by a specific location or a specific date and time before creating event to make sure your desired location is free
  4. Complete each step to create a new event
  5. You will receive email confirmation from 25Live after your request for space (charge of room scheduling) has been approved on the schedule
  6. You can also request that your event be published to the calendar system
    • Publish to Calendar: Once your event has been confirmed by the calendar administrator, your event will appear on the appropriate calendar within one to three working days

Cancel an event

Notes

  • Submissions must be approved by the Publisher Administrator
  • Requesting publication of the event does not guarantee that it will be published. Each calendar has guidelines and rules for what types of events may actually be published
    • Example: no meetings on the Oxford Events calendar
  • Generally, approved events will be published within one or two working days of request submission. The following guidelines are used in reviewing requests:
    • All events must have a Miami sponsor
    • Events to be posted to the Oxford Events, Hamilton Events, or Middletown Events sites must be held at a campus location and remain open to a segment of the Miami community or to the public
