Objective
To provide instruction on moving email from an old Gmail account in to a new Gmail account
Environment
10262: Google Mail (email e-mail)
Resolution
Log in to the Gmail account from which you want to move email
Click the gear in the top right
Click
Settings
Click the
Forwarding and POP/IMAP
tab
Look for
POP Download
Click the radio button next to
Enable POP for all mail
Look for
IMAP Access
Click
Enable IMAP
Click
Save Changes
Go to this Google page to set your option for access to less secure apps
Click the slider so that
Allow less secure apps
is turned on
Log out of the account
Log in to the new email account
Click the gear in the top right
Click
Settings
Click the
Accounts
tab
Look for
Check mail from other accounts
Click
Add a mail account
Enter the email address of the other entity account
Click
Next
Enter the password
Click the drop-down next to
POP Server
and change it to
pop.gmail.com
Make sure
Port:
is still set to
995
Click
Add Account
Click
No
Click
Finish
Wait for the emails to download — this will take several minutes
If the processes fails, go back into
Settings
and click the
Accounts
tab
Click
Edit Info
next to the account and re-enter your password
