Wireless Network / Connect my gaming console or streaming device to MU-Gaming

Objective

• To provide instruction on:
  • Registering your device for the network
  • Connecting your gaming console to MU-Gaming
  • Connecting your streaming device to the network
  • Connecting your Smart TV for use on the Miami Network

Environment

• 10139: Wireless Network

Resolution

1. Log in to Miami's MU-Gaming Device Registration page using your UniqueID and MUnet password
2. Click Add
3. Enter the name of the device or TV you want to register 
   • Please do not include any special characters in the name. The page will return an error if there is a special character in the name or description
4. Enter the device MAC address for Device ID
   • Follow these KB instructions to locate the MAC address for your gaming console
   • Follow these KB instructions to locate the MAC address for your streaming device
5. Submit your request 
   • Note: It can take 15 minutes for your registration to be completed
6. When you have completed your registration, connect your console or device to MU-Gaming
   • Miami Network / Connect a Wii console to the wired network

Notes

• The device will remain in pending status due to a bug within the registration system; this will not affect your ability to connect to MU-GAMING 
• You will not receive notification from the system about the device registration 
• To use Multiplayer abilities on your device, connect your device to the wired network 
  • Wired Network / Connect My Gaming Console to the Internet for Multi-Player Games
