LastPass / Set up

Objective

• To provide instruction on setting up LastPass, on either desktop or mobile devices

Procedure

Create an account

1. Go to the LastPass website
2. Click on Get LastPass Free
3. Fill out the registration form
   1. Make sure the master password is strong and something that you can remember
   2. We highly recommend turning on multi-factor authentication. LastPass has documentation on how to do that

Download LastPass   

• For desktop:
  1. Go to LastPass's downloads page
  2. Choose the device you're using along with your preferred web browser and download it
• For mobile phones:
  1. IOS devices
     • Go to the App Store and download the LastPass app
  2. Android Devices
     • Go to the Google Play Store and download the LastPass app

Save passwords on LastPass

1. Login to your LastPass Account
2. Select Add Item
3. Select the item you'd like to save and fill out the information

Transfer Chrome usernames and passwords to LastPass

1. Go to your Chrome Settings
2. Go to Autofill and then Passwords
   1. To avoid redundancy
      1. Turn off Offer to save passwords
      2. Turn off Auto Sign-in
3. Open the menu by Saved Passwords and select Export
   • A .csv file will be downloaded
4. Go to your LastPass account
5. Go to Advanced Options
6. Select Import and choose the source you are importing passwords from (Such as Chrome Password Manager)

Enable LastPass to AutoFill on IOS devices

1. Go to your iPhone settings
2. Select Password Options (or search for it with the search bar)
3. Select AutoFill Passwords
4. Enable LastPass to be used as an autofill option
5. Turn off iCloud keychain if you'd like to stop using it
   • Currently, Apple does not provide an official way to export data from iCloud, Mac Keychain, or Safari. So you can't import credentials from iCloud/Mac Keychain, you have to add the usernames and Passwords manually

Enable LastPass to AutoFill on Android devices

• LastPass should automatically prompt you to enable autofill, but if not, you can go to Settings and then AutoFill from within the app
