Current State Specification

  • Client Platform: The predominant desktop and laptop operating systems supported are Windows 10 and macOS. 
  • Server Platform: The predominant server operating systems supported are virtualized RHEL-based Linux (RHEL, OEL, CentOS), and Windows 2019/2016 running on X86 Intel
  • Compatible hardware with VMware ESX 6.0 and newer. Apache and WebLogic are the predominant application server environments.
  • Supported Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
  • Mobile Computing Devices: Miami supports iPhone and Android mobile device platforms.


Major Applications

  • Email & Calendaring Services: Google Apps for Education provides the primary email and calendaring system for Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni and Retirees.
  • ERP: Ellucian Banner (Admin currently version 9.x; Self-Service is a mix of Version 8.x and 9.x)
  • Installed modules: Student, Student Self Service, Faculty Self Service, Fin Aid, Fin Aid Self Service, Fin Aid Need Analysis, Finance, Finance Self Service, HR, Employee Self Service, Advancement, Advancement Self Service, EDISmart, Banner Workflow, Banner Doc Management Suite (BDMS aka Xtender), Strategic Enrollment Management, SciQuest, WinStar.
  • IT Service Management (Incident Management, Service Requests, Configuration Management, Change Management, Project Management): TeamDynamix (remotely hosted), Atlassian JIRA
