Rationale
Apple has introduced a new processor replacing Intel-based chips for some newly released models
The M1 (Apple silicon) processors are ARM64 architecture compared to Intel x64
Applications written for Intel x64 must be translated using Rosetta 2 to run on the M1 processor
Current macOS application written for Intel processors may not run properly
Inability to run Microsoft Windows using Boot Camp, and hypervisors, e.g., VMWare Fusion, Parallels, and Virtualbox
